| Transfiguration Chapel - Batulao |
since i was in the university, i have already decided that if in case (just in case!) i will be able to get married, i will definitely get married in that chapel on the hill in batulao, nasugbu, batangas. i was lucky to be able to visit that church when i was a freshman in the university, and for me, that place is filled with some of my fondest college memories. however, due to proximity reasons, i have decided to let go of that church and, at least, just choose another which is a bit more convenient. still, we thought there must be a deeper meaning in choosing that church than just because it's near, air-conditioned, or stylish. the church must have a connection with our life - that became our criteria. on my end, i have considered st. andrew cathedral in la huerta, parañaque since i grew up going to that church on almost all sundays with my mom or my brother. the altar is very nicely decorated with gold (plating, i guess) and the interior of the church had just been renovated. indeed, inside it you will feel a certain kind of tranquility. it's just that i was a bit worried about the traffic on that place on a summer afternoon when everybody else is going to malls to escape the heat :) st. andrew cathedral just happens to be along quirino avenue, where puvs going to las piñas or alabang pass by. aside from that, since it might be very hot during that day, we wanted a reception that's very soothing to the eyes - a garden reception. i guess the nearest one will be around the bf resort area.

this led us to consider other options such as st. jerome church near alabang town center or the nature church in moonwalk near sm southmall. however, the best option proved to be st. peregrine laziosi in tunasan. not only is it spacious (with glass walls that can be opened, similar to the style of mary queen parish in san antonio valley 2, parañaque) but also far enough from the main road so that you can enjoy the peace and quiet that you want when you go to church. it was in this church that my future husband served as an altar boy when he was in high school. st. peregrine is also the patron saint for those who suffer from cancer ^_^

aside from that, this church is also quite near to cipriano's garden, a very nice venue to hold a reception...
